Some Results from April Follies At April Follies, which served as the 2009 NASSPDA Championships, Meredith and Simone were graded into the "A" category of Women's Standard, where they took third place. Ernesto Palma and Luis Grijalva took second place in Men's "A" Latin. Meredith and Ernesto also competed in "reverse role" Two-Step and West Coast Swing, winning first place in both. Watch for the next same-sex competition, California Dreaming, in November. Some photos are available at Meredith's Facebook page.

Some Results from the Philadelphia Liberty Dance Challenge Meredith danced with her friend Suzanne Moseley in the "A" category of Country Western and took first place, dancing against Richard McMurrich and Solomon Singer. Richard and Suzanne are current UCWDC Crystal Advanced World Champions. Our friends Ernesto Palma and Luis Grijalva took first place in Men's "A" Latin. Meredith's next competition is the April Follies event in California, where she and Simone will dance in Women's Standard and she and Ernesto will dance in the reverse-gender Two-Step. Videos will soon be posted on YouTube. Meanwhile, you can see pictures at Steven Lembark's website.

Some Results from the 5 Boro Dance Challenge Meredith and her partner Simone Assboeck were graded into the "A" category (top skill level) and danced against the current U.S. women's standard champions, Citabria Phillips and Zoe Balfour, at this year's 5 Boro Dance Challenge. Although they didn't win, they did take first place in one dance -- waltz -- and came in second overall. In addition, they took the title of North American Women's Show Dance champions for their Hustle. John emceed skillfully, and a good time was had by all. John and Meredith's students, Jerry Petardi and Jason Cudlic, took first place in the Country Challenge, while students Bradley Erickson and Jerry Chapa took second. Videos have been posted to Youtube. You can see pictures at Steven Lembark's website. More info at 5 Boro Dance Challenge.
